Jonathan Gennick is an Apress Assistant Editorial Director with responsibility for augmented reality, Java language, and database topics. He has a now-distant background in programming and software development that informs his enthusiasm for modern technology topics. Jonathan is especially interested in the intersection of art and technology surrounding technologies such as the Microsoft HoloLens. Outside of work, he is a cycling enthusiast with credit for naming one model of bicycle and helping design a yet-to-be-released model. He is active in building non-motorized trail in his community, and spent several years as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Alger County Ambulance Service.
